Why do Americans celebrate Halloween?

Most people celebrate Halloween just to have fun, be around their friends, and enjoy dressing up in costumes. They do not worship the devil or evil spirits. In fact, the tradition of carving a pumpkin is meant to keep evil spirits away! In America, each person decides if they want to celebrate it or not. If you do not want to give children candy, turn off your porch light. This is a signal that you are not participating in trick or treating.
